Breakfast...yum

We got in around 9:00pm last night and everyone was too tired to eat dinner, so in order to get Boris to go to bed without too much whining, Rik promised a giant breakfast.

The feast included eggs, blueberry pancakes, veggie sausages and hot chocolate ( it was a chilly 54 degees)!

Boris ate everything on his plate and then some!

Spring Break

There was a terribly long line to get into The Alamo so we just walked around the grounds taking in as much of the sites as we could.

This is a water fountain that the boys each threw a penny into.

This was a perfect climbing tree. It even came with a clearly posted "Please do not climb on the tree!" sign that Rik conveniently 'missed'.

Boris was so dissappionted that the Tower of the Americas was closed but still had loads of fun at the wooden playground (not pictured).

Cascade Caverns is a place Rik found on the internet when looking up fun family things to do in and around San Antonio. It was supposed to be the highlight of the trip...oh well...

Cheesy photo op!

Here you see him being a T-Rex!

I love him so much!

Tragic Re-enactment

Imagine that Rik is Boris,
Boris is Rik,
and Spike is Spike.

Now imagine that it is the morning and Rik has just come home from his radio show. He opens the door and is greeted lovingly by his children (Hella is not present in re-enactment because she has already gone to bed). He tries to quickly shut the door behind him so that Hella does not escape only to find that the door will not close due to some unforseen obstacle... Boris' finger!

Blood curdling screams fill the air as Rik carries Boris to the kitchen sink yelling "Turn the cold water on!"
"What happened?" I ask.
"Boris' finger just got shut in the door!" He replies. "I was wondering why it wouldn't shut." He adds.

Awe... my poor baby...
Right of passage #1: fullfilled.

THE SOUND OF CUMULUS

Driving to work this morning, Boris asked me, "Can you hear that, Dad?"

I said, "What? The wind whistling outside?"

"No," he said, "it's the sky...it's singing."
